Baby Lock Array 6-Needle Embroidery Machine

The Baby Lock Array is a 6-needle embroidery machine for people who stitch a lot of multicolor designs, including home businesses that personalize shirts, towels, bags and caps. Load six thread colors and it switches between them on its own at up to 1,000 stitches per minute. A crosshair laser shows where the design will land, and the IQ Intuition Monitoring app tells your phone when the machine needs you.
Why buy from Imagine Sewing & Vacuum
- Authorized Baby Lock dealer. Only authorized retailers can issue Baby Lock warranties, so your Array is covered by Baby Lock's 25-year limited warranty.
- Sewing specialists since 1922. We've helped sewists and embroiderers choose the right machine for more than a century.
- Factory-trained technicians. The people who service Baby Lock machines can help with setup, tension and cap frame questions, before and after you buy.
- Free shipping on orders over $299. This machine qualifies.
Built for multicolor and repeat embroidery
- Six colors without rethreading. A design with up to six colors runs start to finish while you hoop the next piece. For more colors, the screen shows how many spool changes are coming.
- Room for bigger designs. The 7-7/8" x 11-3/4" (200 x 300 mm) field handles jacket backs and tote fronts. Four hoops are included, down to 1-1/2" x 2-3/8" for small logos.
- Caps, sleeves and bags. Optional cap frames, a cylinder frame, a sleeve frame and a tubular frame table let you embroider finished items that won't lie flat in a regular hoop.
- Placement you can see. The embroidery crosshair positioning laser marks the design's position on the fabric, and you can adjust the position and angle before you stitch.
- Alerts on your phone. The IQ Intuition Monitoring app tells you when the bobbin needs changing, a thread breaks, a spool needs changing and the design is done.
- Production-style mechanics. A vertical rotary hook with pre-wound bobbins, push-button needle threading, automatic upper and bobbin thread trimming and thread break sensors keep jobs moving.
- Edit at the machine. Resize, rotate, combine and duplicate designs on the touch screen, and add automatic stippling or echo quilting.
Is the Array right for you?
It's the best fit if you're starting or growing a home embroidery business, or you stitch multicolor designs and repeat orders often enough that rethreading a single needle slows you down. With an optional cap frame, it also embroiders finished caps.
Good to know before you buy: the Array embroiders only; it doesn't sew. Cap frames, the tubular frame table and a stand are sold separately. It weighs about 83 pounds and stands 30" tall, so it needs a sturdy table. You set thread tension by hand and oil the hook daily. If you embroider a few gifts a month, a single-needle machine costs far less.
- Need 10 colors, a longer field and camera placement? The Baby Lock Venture 2 has 10 needles, a 7-7/8" x 14" field and a NeedleCam camera.
- Mostly large single designs, at a lower price? The Baby Lock Reflection is a single-needle machine with a 9-1/2" x 14" field.
- Occasional monograms and gifts? The Baby Lock Flare embroiders up to 6-1/4" x 10-1/4" and includes 293 designs.
Expert tip
"Oil the hook before you first use the Array, then put one drop on it each day before you start. Next, stitch the built-in tension test pattern on all six needles. On the back, the bobbin thread should show across about one third of the stitch width. Adjust the upper thread tension on any needle that's off before you start a customer's job."

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Array and the Venture 2?
The Array has 6 needles and a 7-7/8" x 11-3/4" field. The Venture 2 has 10 needles, a 7-7/8" x 14" field, a NeedleCam camera and IQ Designer. Both run at up to 1,000 stitches per minute.
Can the Array embroider hats?
Yes, with an optional cap frame set. The cap frame stitches an area up to 5-1/8" x 2-3/8", and Baby Lock recommends the flat brim cap frame set for caps with its 3D foam fonts.
What happens when a design has more than six colors?
The machine stops when a spool needs changing, and the screen and the phone app tell you which color to load next.
Can I use the Array with a Mac?
Design Database Transfer and the machine's computer connection are made for Windows. From a Mac, copy designs to a USB flash drive and load them at the machine.
What bobbins does it use?
Pre-wound Class L bobbins in a front-loading vertical rotary hook. Six come in the box, and an optional bobbin winder is available.
