Large-format embroidery with precise placement

• Big designs in one hooping. The 9-1/2" x 14" (240 x 360 mm) field means less re-hooping, and 11-1/4" of space to the right of the needle gives bulky jackets and quilts room to move.
• Line designs up with what's already there. 2-point positioning uses an LED pointer to match a design's position and angle to two marks on your fabric.

Is the Reflection right for you?

It's the best fit if you embroider large designs, want a dedicated machine for them, and already buy or digitize your own designs. Baby Lock includes 24 designs, 26 fonts, 6 large decorative alphabets and 140 frame combinations.

Good to know before you buy: the Reflection doesn't sew. It has one needle, so you rethread for every color. There's no camera, cap frame or sleeve frame. Design Database Transfer works with Windows computers only. With the embroidery unit attached, it's about 36" wide and weighs 43.6 pounds.

"Before you stitch a design that fills most of the big hoop, touch the trace key. The carriage outlines the stitching area so you can check that it clears the hoop and the edges of your fabric. With a hoop this size, rest the extra fabric on the table so its weight doesn't pull on the hoop as it moves."

Is the Baby Lock Reflection a sewing machine?

No. Baby Lock lists the Reflection with its single-needle embroidery machines, and its manual covers embroidery only.

What's the difference between the Reflection and the Altair 2?

Both have a 9-1/2" x 14" field, a 10.1" screen, Needle Beam, 11-1/4" of workspace and 1,050 stitches per minute. The Altair 2 also sews and includes 534 designs. The Reflection is embroidery only, with 24 designs.

Why does the Reflection have only 24 built-in designs?

Baby Lock built it around the large field and placement tools rather than a design library. It reads .pes, .phc, .phx and .dst files, so you can stitch designs you buy or digitize.

Does the Reflection have a camera?

No. You place designs with 2-point positioning and the LED pointer. Baby Lock doesn't list a camera or a positioning app for this model.

Can the Reflection embroider hats?

Not finished caps. It's a flatbed machine, and Baby Lock doesn't offer a cap frame for it. For caps, look at a multi-needle machine like the Baby Lock Array.
