Made for a home embroidery business

Is the Venture 2 right for you?

It's the best fit if embroidery is your business or close to it, with batches of team shirts, caps, logo work and towels in many colors.

Good to know before you buy: the Venture 2 embroiders only; it doesn't sew. Cap frames and a stand are sold separately. You set thread tension by hand, oil the hook daily and use pre-wound Class L bobbins. Baby Lock's warranty covers parts for 2 years. If you embroider occasionally, a single-needle machine costs far less.

Expert tip

"On bulky items like jackets, the presser feet of the needles you aren't using can catch fabric outside the design. Keep the design near the center of the hoop and assign its colors to needles 3 through 7, as Baby Lock's manual suggests. For camera placement, use only Baby Lock positioning stickers, pressed down at all four corners, and a fresh one each time."

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Venture 2 and the Array?

The Venture 2 has 10 needles and a 7-7/8" x 14" field; the Array has 6 needles and a 7-7/8" x 11-3/4" field. The Venture 2 also adds the NeedleCam camera and IQ Designer.

How is the Venture 2 different from the original Venture?

Both have 10 needles and a 7-7/8" x 14" field. Baby Lock lists 65 fonts on the Venture 2 versus 51 on the original, and the Venture 2 reads .phx files. Its manual addendum also covers Matrix Copy and the administrator and operator locks.

Can the Venture 2 embroider hats?

Yes, with an optional cap frame. Baby Lock offers the Advanced Cap Frame 2, a flat brim cap frame and a wide cap frame that stitches up to 14" x 2-3/8". The wide frame doesn't fit hats with a front area 2" or less, such as sun visors.

Does the Venture 2 come with a stand?

No. The Deluxe Embroidery Stand (ALSTAND) is optional. At 92 pounds and about 31" tall, the machine needs a sturdy, level table.

Can I use the Venture 2 with a Mac?

The computer connection is made for Windows. From a Mac, copy designs to a USB flash drive and load them at the machine.
