The Pfaff Ambition 610 gives quilters and garment sewists 7.9 inches of space to the right of the needle and Pfaff's Original IDT dual feed, so quilt layers, stripes and slippery fabrics move through evenly. It has 110 stitches up to 7 mm wide, an LCD screen and a speed slider, in a machine that weighs 18.8 pounds.

Why buy from Imagine Sewing & Vacuum

  • Authorized Pfaff dealer. Pfaff only honors warranties on machines bought from authorized dealers, so your Ambition 610 is covered by Pfaff's 10-year limited warranty.
  • Sewing specialists since 1922. We've helped sewists and quilters choose the right machine for more than a century.
  • Factory-trained technicians. The people who service Pfaff machines can help with IDT, tension and free-motion questions, before and after you buy.
  • Free shipping on orders over $299. This machine qualifies.

Built for quilting, ready for everything else

  • Room to roll a quilt. 7.9 inches (200 mm) from the needle to the tower gives a rolled quilt or a bulky bag space to move.
  • Layers that stay aligned. The Original IDT system feeds fabric from the top and bottom at once, like a built-in walking foot. Press it down to engage it, and release it for feet that don't use it.
  • Quilt stitches and more. 110 stitches include 24 quilt stitches, six buttonhole styles, needle art, satin and decorative stitches, all up to 7 mm wide.
  • Control at any speed. The speed slider and Start/Stop button let you sew long quilting lines at a steady pace, up to 800 stitches per minute.
  • Accurate piecing and topstitching. 29 needle positions and needle up/down help you hit a consistent seam allowance and pivot at corners.
  • Guidance on screen. The LCD shows each stitch in real size with its settings. Press the info button to see the recommended presser foot, needle, IDT setting and thread tension.
  • More from each stitch. Elongation lengthens satin stitches without changing their density, mirror image flips stitches side to side, and the twin needle program limits the stitch width for you.
  • Free-motion ready. Lower the feed dogs from the back of the free arm and add the optional open-toe free-motion foot for stippling and thread painting.

Is the Ambition 610 right for you?

It's the best fit if you piece and quilt bed-size projects at home and want IDT and a large work area without paying for features like lettering or an automatic thread cutter.

Good to know before you buy: the Ambition 610 trims threads with a manual cutter, not automatic thread snips. Tension is set by hand with a dial, using the recommendation in the info view. It has no lettering or stitch sequencing, and the screen is monochrome rather than color or touch. The free-motion foot and a 1/4" quilting foot aren't included.

  • Want thread snips, automatic tension and lettering? The Pfaff Ambition 620 adds all three, with 136 stitches and the same 7.9 inches of space.
  • Want quilting feet in the box? The Pfaff Quilt Ambition 635 includes a free-motion foot and a 1/4" quilting foot, with 201 stitches and a 4.3" screen.
  • Need to carry your machine? The Pfaff Passport 3.0 has IDT and thread snips at 14.7 pounds, with 5.7 inches of space.

Expert tip

"The 610 recommends a tension for every stitch, but the dial doesn't move on its own. When you switch from piecing to a satin or decorative stitch, press the info button and turn the dial to the number it shows. To wind a bobbin without unthreading, wind it through the needle, but put a metal presser foot on first, as the manual recommends."

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Pfaff Ambition 610 and 620?

Both have IDT, 7.9 inches of space, a speed slider and 29 needle positions. The 620 adds automatic thread snips, automatic thread tension, two lettering fonts, stitch sequencing and a larger 3" × 2" screen, with 136 stitches instead of 110.

Is the Ambition 610 good for quilting?

Yes. IDT keeps layers aligned for straight-line quilting and stitch-in-the-ditch, the 7.9-inch space handles larger quilts, and you get 24 quilt stitches. For free-motion, add the optional open-toe free-motion foot.

Does the Ambition 610 have an automatic thread cutter?

No. It has a manual cutter on the side of the machine. If you want automatic thread snips, look at the Ambition 620 or Quilt Ambition 635.

Is the 610 computerized?

Yes. You select stitches by number, see settings on the LCD screen and adjust width, length and needle position with buttons. Tension is the one setting you turn by hand.

Can I mount it in a sewing cabinet?

Yes. The underside has two holes for mounting the machine in a sewing cabinet with M6 screws. Check your cabinet's insert size before you order.
