The Baby Lock Anthem is a computerized quilting and sewing machine for quilters who want regulated free-motion stitches. Its StitchSync Regulation senses how fast you move the quilt and sews at the stitch length you set. It also gives you 11.25 inches of space to the right of the needle and a 10.1-inch touchscreen.
Why buy from Imagine Sewing & Vacuum
- Authorized Baby Lock dealer. Only authorized retailers can issue Baby Lock warranties, so your Anthem is covered by Baby Lock's 25-year limited warranty.

Free-motion quilting with stitch regulation
- Even free-motion stitches. The included stitch regulator detects fabric movement and keeps stitches at the length you choose, in Intermittent, Continuous or Basting mode. It has quilting, open toe and echo quilting soles.
- Dual feed with four soles. The Compact Digital Dual-Feed foot has 7.0 mm of clearance for thick layers. It comes with open toe, 1/4-inch, stitch-in-the-ditch and couching soles, plus two quilting guides.
- Piece with less marking. The guide beam marks a line on the fabric to help you sew half-square triangles, hold an accurate seam allowance and quilt without marking first.
- Room for big quilts. 11.25 inches of space and the included extension table give a rolled quilt room to move.
- A large screen. The 10.1-inch color touchscreen adds stitch tapering, which angles the start and end of decorative stitches.
- Both hands stay on the quilt. The knee lift, programmable multi-function foot control and pivot function help you lift the foot, cut thread and turn corners.
- Speed you control. Sew from 70 to 1,050 stitches per minute, with NeverMiss automatic threading and an automatic thread cutter.
Is the Anthem right for you?
It's the best fit if free-motion quilting is a big part of your sewing and you want stitch regulation, dual feed and a large screen in one machine.
Good to know before you buy: the Anthem doesn't embroider. Its wireless connection is only for software updates, and it has no sensor pen. At 37.5 pounds and 26 inches wide, it needs a sturdy table.
- Don't need stitch regulation? The Baby Lock Ballad has the same space and dual feed with a 7-inch screen, for less.
- Want a sensor pen? The Baby Lock Chorus has a sensor pen but no stitch regulator, and is now a previous model.
- Want a smaller computerized machine for less than half the price? The Baby Lock Soprano has 300 stitches and 8.3 inches of space.
- Need quilting space on a tighter budget? The Baby Lock Jazz II has 12 inches of space and 28 dial-selected stitches.
Expert tip
"The stitch regulator reads the fabric through a sensor about 1-1/2 inches from the needle, so keep part of the quilt under that sensor at all times. Slide the quilt instead of spinning it, because the sensor can't read rotation accurately. If stitches skip, try the included gold 90/14 ball point needle and a stitch length of 2 mm or less, testing on a scrap sandwich first."

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Baby Lock Anthem and the Chorus?
The Chorus is now a previous model. The Anthem keeps its 11.25-inch space and dual-feed foot, and adds StitchSync stitch regulation, a 10.1-inch screen, wireless updates and 804 stitches. Only the Chorus has a sensor pen.
How is the Anthem different from the Ballad?
The Ballad shares the space, top speed and dual-feed foot, and costs less. It has no stitch regulator, guide beam or wireless updates, and a 7-inch screen.
How does StitchSync Regulation work?
A sensor on the stitch regulator detects how fast you move the quilt, and the machine sews at the stitch length you set. Intermittent mode pauses with the needle up when you stop moving. Continuous mode keeps stitching slowly in place, which helps at corners. Basting mode sews free-motion basting.
How does the Anthem compare with the Soprano, Lyric and Jazz II?
The Soprano (300 stitches) and Lyric (250 stitches) have 8.3 inches of space, 850 stitches per minute and a small LCD screen. The Jazz II has 12 inches of space but 28 dial-selected stitches. Baby Lock doesn't list stitch regulation for any of the three.
Does the Anthem embroider?
No. For sewing and embroidery in one machine, see the Baby Lock Aerial.
