See the design on your fabric before you stitch

• A very large embroidery field. The new embroidery unit stitches up to 450 x 450 mm with an optional hoop, with less noise and vibration. Husqvarna Viking calls it the industry's largest embroidery area.
• Four hoops in the box. Regal (465 x 260 mm), Royal II, Jewel II and Splendid Square II, plus a hoop adapter for older hoops.
• Placement you can see. The projector shows the embroidery on your hooped fabric, and hoop scanning puts a photo of your project behind the design on screen. Line up multiple hoopings, then fine-tune with exact positioning.
• Guides for sewing, too. When you sew, the projector shows a stitch preview, adjustable guidelines and grids. Guided Pictogram stitches project where to pivot as you sew large motifs.
• New embroidery techniques. Embroider on the free arm without opening a seam, or stitch felting or bobbin work from the back and finish from the front without rehooping. Each needs an optional hoop.

Is the Designer Epic 3 right for you?

It's the best fit if you embroider large or multi-hooped designs, want to see placement on the fabric before stitching, and also sew and quilt on the same machine.

Good to know before you buy: the free-arm hoop, Special Techniques Hoop, 450 x 450 mm hoop and ribbon, bead and yarn attachments are sold separately, and the CREATIVATE Library is a subscription. It's a big machine: about 33 lb plus a 17.6 lb embroidery unit, and 24.7 inches long, so plan for a sturdy table.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Epic 3 and the Epic 2?

Both have built-in dual feed and 9 mm stitches. The Epic 3 swaps the laser for a projector and adds hoop scanning, presser foot recognition, STITCH CREATOR, free-arm and reversible-hoop embroidery, a 450 x 450 mm field (against 360 x 350 mm), four included hoops and a 3-year mechanical warranty.

Is the Starlight Bronze different from other Epic 3 editions?

The machine and its features are the same; the trim color differs. Husqvarna Viking also makes a Nordic Frost edition, so ask us if you'd prefer it.

Can I use my old Husqvarna Viking hoops?

The included hoop adapter lets you use older hoops, though Husqvarna Viking says the Imperial Hoop isn't compatible.

What is reversible hoop embroidery?

With the optional Special Techniques Hoop, you stitch felting or bobbin work from one side, then embroider normally without unhooping.

Can I quilt on the Epic 3?

Yes. It has 310 mm of space, Integrated Dual Feed, three free-motion modes and projected guidelines.
