The extension table, ruler foot, quilt binder and rotary cutting kit come in the box.
Why buy from Imagine Sewing & Vacuum
- Authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer. Husqvarna Viking's warranty covers machines bought from authorized dealers, so your Epic Quilt 97 is covered by its 20-year limited warranty.
- Sewing specialists since 1922. We've helped sewists and quilters choose the right machine for more than a century.
- Factory-trained technicians. The people who service Husqvarna Viking machines can help with setup, dual feed and free-motion questions, before and after you buy.
- Free shipping on orders over $299. This machine qualifies.
Built around the way quilters work
- Room for a rolled quilt. Over 12" (310 mm) to the right of the needle and over 5.5" (140 mm) of height. Husqvarna Viking says it can handle king-size quilts.
- Stitches placed where you want them. Projection shows the selected stitch on the fabric at actual size, or an adjustable grid and up to two angled guidelines for straight lines and crosshatching.
- Layers that stay lined up. Integrated Dual Feed (IDF) feeds from the top and bottom at once, so you don't need a separate walking foot.
- Three free-motion modes. Spring, floating and ruler foot modes each drop the feed teeth automatically. The free-motion ruler foot is included.
- Binding and cutting tools included. A quilt binder with its own presser foot, a rotating self-healing mat, a rotary cutter and two rulers.
- Accurate piecing. 37 needle positions, the adjustable 1/4" foot and the straight stitch plate help seams and points meet.
- Guidance on screen. On the 10.1" touch screen, the JoyOS Advisor sets stitch width, length, tension and foot pressure for your fabric and technique.
- More than quilting. 890 stitches, 9 mm width and 16 buttonhole styles cover garments too.
Is the Epic Quilt 97 right for you?
It's the best fit if quilting is your main sewing and you want a large work area, built-in dual feed and projected guidelines in one machine, with the quilting accessories included.
Good to know before you buy: the Epic Quilt 97 doesn't embroider. It uses bobbins made for this model only, and at about 33 pounds it's meant to stay on a sewing table. The brand's box list doesn't include a spring free-motion foot such as the Sensor Q-Foot.
- Want embroidery with the same work area? The Husqvarna Viking Designer Epic 3 keeps the 12" space, projection and dual feed and adds embroidery, with optional hoops up to 450 × 450 mm.
- Want embroidery with a smaller hoop range? The Husqvarna Viking Designer Ruby 90 has the 10.1" screen and 12" space and embroiders up to 360 × 350 mm.
- Prefer laser guidance? The Husqvarna Designer Epic 2 is a sewing and embroidery machine with an adjustable laser sewing guide and three hoops included.
- Need a smaller quilting machine? The Husqvarna Opal 690Q has 8" of sewing space and a 3" touch screen.
Expert tip
"The rulers in the quilting kit are for rotary cutting. For ruler work under the free-motion ruler foot, use quilting rulers made for ruler work, which are about 1/4 inch thick so they can't slide under the foot. Before you start, disengage the IDF system, choose ruler foot mode in the free-motion menu and put on the straight stitch plate. Then set the foot height so the quilt glides freely but doesn't bounce with the needle."

Frequently asked questions
Is the Epic Quilt 97 an embroidery machine?
No. It has no embroidery unit. For embroidery, see the Designer Epic 3 or Designer Ruby 90.
What's the difference between the Epic Quilt 97 and the Designer Epic 3?
Both have over 12 inches of space, a 10.1" screen, dual feed, projection and 9 mm stitches. The Epic 3 adds embroidery with 912 built-in designs. The Epic Quilt 97 sews only and includes the quilting kit.
Do I need a walking foot?
No. Integrated Dual Feed is built in. Use a presser foot made for IDF and pull the IDF down to feed from the top and bottom together.
Can I do free-motion and ruler quilting?
Yes. Pick spring, floating or ruler foot mode and the feed teeth lower for you. Disengage the IDF for all free-motion work.
Can I use bobbins from my other machine?
No. The manual says to use only bobbins designed for the Epic Quilt 97. Nine come in the box.
