Push-button sewing, made simple

• One press per stitch. Each of the 27 stitches has its own button, and the machine sets the stitch width and length automatically.
• The right foot every time. Press the info button and the LED display shows which presser foot the stitch needs.
• Control at the needle. Needle up/down stops the needle in the fabric so you can pivot corners and appliqué, and 15 needle positions help with topstitching.
• Sew without the pedal. Start/stop and the speed slider let you sew long seams, decorative rows and buttonholes at a steady pace.
• Neat seam ends. The tie-off button secures the stitch and stops the machine, either right away or at the end of the stitch.

It has no lettering stitches, and the extension table shown in one photo and a free-motion foot aren't included.

"If the 260C beeps and won't start, check the presser foot lever. The machine won't sew with the foot raised. After you lower the feed dogs to sew on a button, slide the switch at the back of the free arm to the right and turn the handwheel one full turn. The feed dogs don't come back up until you do."

Yes. It has direct stitch selection buttons, an LED display and automatic stitch width and length settings.

What's the difference between the 260C and the 160S?

The 160S is mechanical, with 23 stitches chosen by dial. The 260C adds push-button selection, 4 more stitches, needle up/down, start/stop, a speed slider and tie-off. Both have 6.3 inches of space.

Does the 260C have IDT?

No. The Smarter by Pfaff line doesn't have IDT. For built-in dual feed, look at the passport 2.0, passport 3.0, select 4.2 or ambition 610.

Can I quilt on the 260C?

Yes, for piecing and small projects. It has quilt stitches, an edge/quilting guide and drop feed dogs, but the 6.3-inch space limits large quilts.

Can I turn off the beep?

Yes. Hold the immediate tie-off button while you turn the machine on, press the stitch width minus button to switch the sound off, and press tie-off again to go back to sewing.
