Air threading with hands-on tension control

• Loopers thread in seconds. Jet-Air Threading uses a burst of air to carry thread through the tubular loopers at the touch of a lever. There are no looper thread guides to work through with tweezers.
• Needles thread with a lever. Set the built-in needle threader to L or R for the left or right needle, press the lever, and the hook pulls the thread through the eye.
• Tension you set yourself. Four dials and the Micromatic Twin Cam Tension System give you direct control over each thread. Tensions come preset for standard thread, and a chart inside the manual's back cover suggests settings for each stitch.
• Room for thick fabric. The presser foot lifts up to 6 mm, and Baby Lock's Advanced Knife Driving and One-Way Clutch System gives the knife a larger cutting bite for thicker fabric.
• Smooth feeding on knits and wovens. Single-unit differential feed gathers up to 2.0 or stretches down to 0.6, so knits stay flat and lightweight fabric doesn't pucker.
• Built-in rolled hem. Clear the stitch fingers, turn the stitch length dial into the rolled hem range and set the width to M for a 1.5 mm rolled edge, with no stitch finger to remove.
• Plenty of stitch options. Sew 4-thread overlock, 3-thread wide and narrow overlock, flatlock, rolled edge, and 2-thread flatlock, rolled edge, blanket and ladder stitches. The 2-thread subsidiary looper is built in.

Is the Celebrate right for you?

It's the best fit if you're tired of threading loopers by hand but still want to fine-tune tension yourself, or you want Baby Lock air threading at a lower price than the Victory.

Good to know before you buy: Jet-Air Threading threads the loopers only. You run the needle threads through their guides and use the lever needle threader. Tensions are manual, so you'll adjust the dials when you change thread, fabric or stitch. The Celebrate doesn't sew cover stitch or chain stitch, and it has one LED light.

"If Jet-Air Threading won't push a thread through, check the looper tube first. Pull the old thread completely out before you rethread, because a leftover piece blocks the air. Leave an 18-inch tail above the threading port, cut the end clean and insert about an inch. Then sew a test strip and change one tension dial at a time."

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Baby Lock Celebrate and the Victory?

Both have Jet-Air Threading, a lever needle threader, 4/3/2-thread serging, 1,500 stitches per minute and a 6 mm presser foot height. The Victory adds Automatic Thread Delivery, so you choose a stitch setting instead of adjusting tension dials, and it has two LED lights to the Celebrate's one.

Does the Celebrate thread the needles automatically?

No. Jet-Air Threading handles the upper and lower loopers. You thread the needle guides by hand and use the built-in lever needle threader for the eyes.

Will I need to adjust the tension?

Sometimes. Tensions are preset at the factory for standard thread and fabric. When you change thread, fabric or stitch, the chart in the manual gives starting settings, and a test strip shows what to fine-tune.

Can the Celebrate handle thick fabrics like fleece?

Yes. The presser foot lifts up to 6 mm, and Baby Lock designed the cutting system for thicker fabric. For heavyweight fabric, Baby Lock recommends switching from the standard 75/11 needles to size 90/14.

Which thread should I use?

Baby Lock recommends 100% long-staple polyester serger thread on cones. Standard spools work too, with the included spool caps and sponge disks.
