The Pfaff Admire Air 7000 is a 5-thread coverlock: one machine that serges seams, sews cover stitch hems on knits and sews chainstitch. One push of the threading button air-threads all three loopers, and the color touch screen sets tension and stitch length for each of its 26 stitches.

Why buy from Imagine Sewing & Vacuum

  • Authorized Pfaff dealer. Pfaff honors its warranty only on machines bought from an authorized Pfaff dealer, so your Admire Air 7000 is covered by Pfaff's 5-year limited warranty.
  • Sewing specialists since 1922. We've helped sewists and garment makers choose the right machine for more than a century.
  • Factory-trained technicians. The people who service Pfaff machines can help with air threading, cover stitch setup and tension questions, before and after you buy.
  • Free shipping on orders over $299. This machine qualifies.

Serger, cover stitch and chainstitch in one machine

  • All three loopers air-threaded. Insert each thread into its port and press the threading button. Air carries the thread through the upper, lower and chainstitch loopers, together or one at a time.
  • Settings on screen. Pick a stitch on the 3.4-inch color touch screen and it sets thread tension and stitch length. Info screens show threading paths and setup.
  • 26 stitches from 2 to 5 threads. Sew 5-thread safety stitches, 4-thread overlock, flatlock, rolled and picot edges, triple, wide and narrow cover stitch, and chainstitch.
  • Your settings saved. Adjust tension for each thread, differential feed, stitch length or speed, then save up to 30 stitches under your own names.
  • Made for hems and cuffs. Slide off the flat bed extension to sew sleeves, pant legs and children's clothes on the free arm.
  • Hands stay on the fabric. The included knee lifter raises the presser foot to its up or extra-lift position.
  • Room for bigger projects. You get 4.8 inches of space beside the needle, an extension table, and five LED lights over the work area.

Is the Admire Air 7000 right for you?

It's the best fit if you sew knit garments, activewear or children's clothes and want serging and cover stitch hems without buying a second machine.

Good to know before you buy: air threading covers the loopers only. You thread the five needles by hand with the included needle threader. Changing to cover stitch takes a few steps: you lock the upper knife and upper looper, change needles and swap the cutter cover for the cover stitch table. Only the standard presser foot is included. Specialty feet and binders are sold separately.

  • Don't need cover stitch? The Pfaff Admire Air 5000 is a 4-thread serger with air-threaded loopers and a built-in needle threader.
  • Like Husqvarna Viking? The Husqvarna Viking Amber Air S600 is a 26-stitch touch-screen coverlock that also adjusts its settings to the fabric you choose.
  • Prefer a dial to a screen? The Husqvarna Viking Amber Air S500 coverlock sews 23 stitches and sets tension when you turn the stitch dial.
  • Want a simpler first serger? The Pfaff Hobbylock 2.5 sews 15 overlock stitches and sets tension with its Auto Tension Dial.

Expert tip

"Before you air-thread, raise the telescopic thread stand all the way and pull about 22 inches of thread off each cone so the air has slack to work with. When you finish a cover stitch hem, don't chain off the way you would on a serged seam. Pulling the looper thread will unravel it. Raise the foot, turn the handwheel one full turn away from you, slide the fabric out to the back, then pull the needle threads to the wrong side and knot them with the looper thread."

Frequently asked questions

What is a coverlock?

A coverlock combines a serger and a cover stitch machine. The Admire Air 7000 serges and trims seams, then converts to sew the double and triple cover stitch hems you see on ready-made T-shirts.

Does the Admire Air 7000 air-thread the needles?

No. Air threading covers the three loopers. You thread the needles along color-coded paths and use the included needle threader for the eyes.

How do I switch from serging to cover stitch?

Lock the upper knife, set the stitch finger lever to R and remove the two overlock needles. Insert the cover stitch needles you need, slide the upper looper lever to its off position and swap cutter cover A for cover stitch table B. The screen's info tabs show these steps for each stitch.

What's the difference between the Admire Air 7000 and the Husqvarna Viking Amber Air S600?

Both are 26-stitch, touch-screen coverlocks with air-threaded loopers. The Amber Air S600 adds Husqvarna Viking's Exclusive Sewing Advisor, which sets stitch length, differential feed and tension from the fabric you choose.

Can it sew in a circle?

Yes. Attach the extension table, push the included pivot pin through the center of your fabric and into one of the table's 13 holes, and the fabric turns as you sew.
