Room, power and control for big quilts

• Space to turn a quilt. 12.2 inches (310 mm) to the right of the needle and 5.5 inches (140 mm) of height give a rolled quilt room to move.
• Even feeding from the top and bottom. Enhanced Original IDT is Pfaff's built-in dual feed. It has its own power source, and a sensor tells you when to engage or disengage it.

Good to know before you buy: the Performance Icon is a sewing machine only. It has no embroidery unit, and you can't add one. The 6D Dynamic Spring Foot is optional; the included 6A foot covers Sensormatic free-motion. At about 32 pounds, it needs a sturdy table.

"For piecing, put on the straight stitch needle plate and the 1/4-inch quilting foot, then engage IDT so both layers feed together. If you move a straight stitch to the left, switch to the black straight-stitch bobbin case; the screen shows a reminder when it's recommended. For free-motion with the included 6A foot, choose Sensormatic Free-Motion so the machine's settings match the foot."
