Expert tip

"For piecing, swap in the straight stitch needle plate and the 1/4" IDT foot, and engage the IDT so the top layer doesn't creep. Before you snap on the 2A, 5A, 5M, 6A or 8 foot, disengage the IDT system, because those feet aren't designed for it. For free-motion, slow the speed down and move the quilt at a steady pace to keep stitch length even."

The 720 adds nearly 2 more inches of space (250 mm vs. 200 mm), sews faster (1,050 vs. 800 stitches per minute), and adds the electronic knee lift, automatic presser foot lift, automatic feed-tooth drop, Stitch Creator and 9 mm stitches. The 635 has a larger 4.3-inch screen.

Does the Quilt Expression 720 have IDT?

Yes, the Original IDT integrated dual feed. Engage it for piecing and quilting through layers, and disengage it for free-motion and for feet that aren't marked for IDT.

Can the 720 do free-motion quilting?

Yes. Pick one of three free-motion modes and the feed teeth drop on their own. The included 6A foot works in Sensormatic free-motion mode, and optional spring feet work in the spring foot modes.

Does it embroider or connect to Wi-Fi?

No. It's a sewing and quilting machine with a USB port for stitches and sequences. For embroidery, look at the Pfaff Creative 3.0.
