Miele Fine Dust Cartridge Assembly 9607997 for Blizzard CX1

This genuine Miele fine dust cartridge assembly (part 9607997) is the replacement fine dust container and self-cleaning fine dust filter for Miele Blizzard CX1 bagless canister vacuums. You lift it out once the dust bin is off, and it holds the filter that traps the fine dust the bin doesn't. One assembly comes in the box.

Not for the Boost CX1. Miele's compact Boost CX1 is also bagless, but it uses a different washable fine dust filter and won't take this cartridge. Triflex cordless vacuums use the HX-FSF-2 or HX-FSF filter instead.

When to replace it

• No set interval. Miele doesn't publish a replacement schedule, because the filter cleans itself. Replace the assembly if the container or filter is damaged, or if cleaning no longer brings suction back.
• Clean it once or twice a year. Miele recommends emptying and cleaning the fine dust container this often.
• Rinse the filter carefully. Rinse only the outside under cold running water, with no soap and no brush, and never clean the inside. Let it dry for at least 24 hours before it goes back in.
• Big messes: after vacuuming a lot of dust at once, hold the ComfortClean button for at least two seconds to start a cleaning cycle.

Expert tip

"When the ComfortClean button turns red, work through it in order: empty the bin, rinse the pre-filter, then take out the fine dust cartridge and clean it the way the manual shows. Give everything a full 24 hours to dry. If suction is still weak after that, or the container is cracked, that's when a new cartridge makes sense."

Will this fit a Miele Boost CX1?

No. The Boost CX1 uses its own fine dust filter. This cartridge is made for Blizzard CX1 vacuums only.

Is 9607997 the same part as 9607998?

Miele publishes a US data sheet for each number. Both describe the same fine dust cartridge assembly with the self-cleaning function, and both list Blizzard CX1 vacuums as the fit. Miele USA's own store currently sells it as 9607998.

How do I take the cartridge out?

Unplug the vacuum and remove the dust bin. Release the fine dust container in the direction of the arrow and lift it out. To open it, turn the top to release it, following the markings, then carefully lift the filter out.

Can I wash the fine dust filter?

Yes, but only the outside, under cold running water with no soap. Don't brush it or use anything sharp, and let it dry for at least 24 hours.
