Miele SPD 20 Wide Upholstery Nozzle XL for Miele Canister Vacuums

The genuine Miele SPD 20 is an extra-wide upholstery nozzle for sofas, armchairs, mattresses and cushions. At 7 1/16 inches (18 cm) across, it covers more fabric per pass than a standard upholstery nozzle. Its TPE thread lifters pick up lint and hair, and Miele designed it to be self-cleaning, so fibers don't stay stuck on it. It pushes straight onto the handle of any Miele canister vacuum.

How to use it

• Push the nozzle firmly onto the end of your canister's handle.
• Lower the suction setting for loose cushion covers and delicate fabrics so the fabric isn't pulled into the nozzle.
• Work in overlapping strokes across the fabric. For seams and the gaps between cushions, switch to a crevice nozzle such as the SFD 10.

"Do the mattress every time you change the sheets. The wide nozzle covers a queen mattress in a couple of minutes. If pet hair is woven deep into a sofa, follow up with the STB 101 Turbo Mini, which brushes as it vacuums."

Will the SPD 20 fit my Miele TriFlex?

No. Miele lists the SPD 20 for its canister vacuums. For the TriFlex and Duoflex, Miele makes the HX-UN wide upholstery nozzle.

How is it different from the upholstery nozzle that came with my vacuum?

The SPD 20 is wider, at 7 1/16 inches, so it covers sofas and mattresses in fewer passes. If you only need a direct replacement for the small nozzle, see the Miele standard upholstery nozzle.

Can I use it on mattresses?

Yes. It's made for upholstered furniture, and its width suits large flat areas like mattresses and cushions.

Does it work on pet hair?

The thread lifters pick up loose hair from fabric. For hair that's matted into upholstery, the STB 101 Turbo Mini adds a spinning brush roll.
