The Baby Lock Acclaim is a 4-thread serger for sewists who want the threading done for them. Press one button and RevolutionAir threading blows thread through the loopers, then press another to thread the needles. Automatic Thread Delivery sets the overlock tension for you, so you can go from knits to denim to rolled edges without a tension dial to adjust.
Why buy from Imagine Sewing & Vacuum
- Authorized Baby Lock dealer. Only authorized retailers can issue Baby Lock warranties, so your Acclaim is covered by Baby Lock's 25-year limited warranty.
- Sewing specialists since 1922. We've helped sewists and garment makers choose the right machine for more than a century.
- Factory-trained technicians. The people who service Baby Lock machines can help with setup, air threading and stitch selection questions, before and after you buy.
- Free shipping on orders over $299. This machine qualifies.
Threading and tension handled for you
- Loopers thread with one button. Insert the thread end into a port and press Push to Thread Loopers. Air carries it through the tubular loopers, with no looper guides to follow and no threading order.
- Needles thread with another. Lower the needle threader lever, hold the thread in front of the needle eye and press Push to Thread Needles. A clip-on threading guide is included.
- No tension dials to learn. Automatic Thread Delivery feeds the right amount of thread for the stitch you pick, on any fabric and with any type of thread.
- Wave Stitch for decorative edges. Flip the Wave/Overlock lever to sew Baby Lock's patented Wave Stitch, plus Rolled Wave and Reversed Wave versions.
- 4-, 3- and 2-thread stitches. Sew overlock seams, flatlock, rolled edges, and blanket and ladder stitches. The built-in subsidiary looper converts to 2-thread without extra parts.
- Cuts through thick layers. Baby Lock's knife driving system has a larger cutting bite, and the presser foot lifts up to 6 mm.
- Flat, even seams. The stitch fingers move with the knife as you change the cutting width, and the full differential feed gathers at up to 2:1 and helps keep knit seams from waving.
- Clear view of your work. Three LED lights brighten the needle area, and you get 2 inches of space to the right of the needle.
Is the Acclaim right for you?
It's the best fit if you sew garments, knits or home décor, change thread colors often, and want a serger you can thread in seconds.
Good to know before you buy: the Acclaim is a 4-thread overlock serger. It doesn't sew chain or cover stitches, so it can't make T-shirt-style twin-needle hems. The foot control sets the speed; there's no speed slider or knee lifter. Only the standard presser foot is included, and at 24.7 pounds it's heavier than the Victory or Celebrate.
- Want serging and cover stitch in one machine? The Baby Lock Triumph air-threads all five needles and adds chain and cover stitches, 87 stitch combinations and 5 inches of space.
- Want to hem knits without converting a machine? Pair the Acclaim with the Baby Lock Euphoria cover stitch machine.
- Want Automatic Thread Delivery for less? The Baby Lock Victory threads its loopers with a Jet-Air lever and has a built-in needle threader, but no Wave Stitch.
- Prefer setting tensions yourself? The Baby Lock Celebrate has Jet-Air looper threading and manual tension dials.
Expert tip
"When the air threader won't carry a looper thread all the way through, check the slack. Pull at least 22 inches of loose thread above the port with no kinks, and push a half inch of the end into the port. For the needles, trim the thread end clean, push the threader lever all the way down, and clip on the included threading guide if the thread keeps missing the eye."

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Baby Lock Acclaim and the Victory?
Both are 4/3/2-thread sergers with Automatic Thread Delivery. The Acclaim threads its loopers and needles with push-button RevolutionAir threading, adds the Wave Stitch and has three LED lights. The Victory threads its loopers with a Jet-Air lever, has a built-in lever needle threader and two LED lights, and weighs 16 pounds.
Does the Acclaim do cover stitch?
No. For cover stitch hems, add the Baby Lock Euphoria or choose a combination machine like the Triumph or Splendor.
Will I ever need to adjust tension?
Not for normal sewing. For special threads or effects, an upper and lower looper fine-tuning knob lets you make small changes, and you can set it back to the standard position at any time.
What is the Wave Stitch?
A Baby Lock decorative edge in which the upper and lower looper threads take turns showing every 25 stitches, so the edge looks like a wave.
How does the Acclaim compare with the Triumph?
Both use RevolutionAir threading for loopers and needles and sew the Wave Stitch. The Triumph is an 8-thread machine that adds chain and cover stitches, a speed control slider, a knee lift and 5 inches of space.
